Xbox One X powering on — fan spinning, light on — but the TV stays black? Shine a torch into the HDMI socket before you write the console off. Bent, flattened or missing gold pins inside are far and away the most common cause, and the board itself is usually untouched.
It is almost always mechanical damage: a cable trodden on or caught while the console is plugged in, levering the connector sideways until a pin gives.
Brand new replacement HD socket, HDMI compatible.
This is board-level work. The old port has to be lifted with hot air and the new one reflowed onto the pads. A soldering iron on its own will not do it — you need a rework station, flux and experience, or a shop that has them.
Fits: Xbox One X only.
Does not fit: the original Xbox One or the Xbox One S — all three consoles use different sockets. Also not Xbox Series X or S.
Test a different cable and another TV input first. A failing HDMI lead gives an identical black screen and costs nothing to rule out.
