Controller drifting — aim pulling to one side, menus scrolling by themselves? Xbox sticks use a carbon potentiometer, and the wiper inside grinds a groove into the track it rides on. Once that groove is there, no amount of contact cleaner or recalibration fixes it.
Hall effect sticks read position magnetically. There is no wiper and no contact, so there is nothing to wear out and the drift does not return.
This is a soldered repair. The stick module is soldered through the board on 14 pins. You need an iron, wick or a desoldering gun, and some practice first.
Fits: Xbox One, Xbox One S, Xbox One X and Xbox Series X|S controllers.
Does not fit: Xbox Elite Series 2 (different module — see our Elite TMR stick) or Xbox 360.
