DualSense drifting on its own — camera creeping, character walking, with your thumbs nowhere near the sticks? The stock PS5 stick is a carbon potentiometer and it wears a groove into its own track. Cleaning and recalibrating buys a few weeks; the part is simply worn out.
Hall effect sticks read position with a magnet instead of a contact arm. Nothing inside touches anything else, so there is nothing to wear through — the drift does not come back.
This is a soldered repair. The module has 14 pins through the controller board and must be desoldered to remove. You need an iron, wick or a desoldering gun, and some practice before you try it on a controller you care about.
Fits: Sony PS5 DualSense, all revisions.
Does not fit: DualSense Edge, or PS4 DualShock 4.
Sold as a single stick. A DualSense has two — order a pair if both drift or you would rather open it once.
