Stylus lost, snapped, or never came with the console?
It is the first thing to go missing on a used handheld, and a resistive touch screen is genuinely awkward to use accurately with a fingertip - menus mis-tap and handwriting input becomes a fight.
Plain black plastic replacement that slides into the console's own stylus holder. Sized for the original 3DS holder. The XL and New models all take different styluses, which is the usual reason one arrives that will not seat.
