Series S starting up with no picture on the TV? Shine a torch into the HDMI socket before writing the console off. Bent, flattened or missing gold pins inside are the most common reason, and the board itself is usually fine.
It is nearly always mechanical — a cable caught or trodden on while the console is plugged in, levering the connector sideways.
Brand new replacement HD socket, HDMI compatible.
This is board-level work. The old port has to be lifted with hot air and the new one reflowed onto the pads. An iron alone will not do it — you need a rework station, flux and practice, or a shop that has them.
Fits: Xbox Series S only.
Does not fit: Xbox Series X — a different port entirely, which we stock separately. Also not Xbox One or One S.
Try another cable and TV input first. A dying HDMI lead gives an identical black screen and costs nothing to rule out.
