The charge cord is always the first thing to disappear from an Xbox 360 setup, and the originals fray badly right where the cable meets the controller plug. This is a new replacement cable in black that plugs into the console or any USB port and charges the controller while you play.

Read this first, it matters

This cable only charges a controller that has a Play and Charge rechargeable battery pack fitted. It cannot charge ordinary AA batteries, and no cable can. If your controller is running on AAs, this cord will let you play wired but it will not put any charge back. You need a Play and Charge battery pack in the controller for charging to work.

Will this charge my controller if it uses AA batteries? No. Alkaline AAs are not rechargeable and the controller has no charging circuit for them. Fit a Play and Charge rechargeable pack first, then this cable will work.

Can I play while it charges? Yes. That is the point of the cable. The controller stays wireless and simply draws charge through the cord.

Will it work plugged into a PC or a phone charger? Yes, any powered USB-A port will charge it.

Is this an official Microsoft cable? No, it is a third-party replacement.
