The Wii U Pro Controller and the original Nintendo 3DS use the same 600mAh battery, and after a decade of charge cycles both of them start dying the same way: the charge lasts an hour instead of a day, or the thing only works while it is plugged in. This is a fresh replacement pack, and a screwdriver is included in the box so you can do the swap the moment it arrives.

This is the small 600mAh pack. It will not fit the 3DS XL, New 3DS, New 3DS XL, 2DS, 2DS XL, DSi or DS Lite. Those all take larger, differently shaped batteries, and we stock several of them separately. If you are not sure which console you have, check the model code printed on the back.
How to install
Power the console off completely and unplug the charger.
Undo the single screw on the battery cover with the included screwdriver and lift the cover off.
Lift the old battery out. There is usually a small notch to get a fingernail under.
Drop the new pack in, contacts first, and refit the cover.
Charge it fully before the first use.
No soldering. The screw on the battery cover is the only one you will touch.

Common questions
Does this really fit both the Wii U Pro Controller and a 3DS? Yes. Nintendo used the same battery format in both, which is why one part covers two very different pieces of hardware.
Will it fit my 3DS XL? No. The XL takes a physically larger 1750mAh pack. We list that one separately.
My battery is swollen. Is that dangerous? A swollen lithium battery should be replaced and should not be charged again. Handle it gently, do not puncture it, and take it to a battery recycling drop-off rather than the bin.
Do I need any tools? No, the screwdriver comes in the box.
Is this an original Nintendo battery? No, it is a Tomee replacement pack.
