Email usThe full rundown
The analog nub on a PSP 1000 is a small rubber cap that takes every bit of thumb wear the handheld sees. After years of use the texture polishes smooth, the rubber cracks at the edge, or the cap goes missing entirely and leaves a bare plastic stem. This is a direct replacement cap for the original fat PSP. It pulls off and presses on by hand, so nothing needs to be opened.
What this fixes
- Smooth, slippery analog nub where the grip texture is gone
- Cracked, torn or peeling rubber on the cap
- Missing cap with the bare stem showing
- Sticky or gummy rubber on a PSP that sat in a drawer
What you get
Sold as a single cap, which is all a PSP needs since it has one analog stick. Black rubberized cap with the flat dished top that matches the original Sony profile.
Fits
- PSP 1000 (original "fat" PSP), all regions
Does not fit
PSP 2000, 3000, Go and Street use a different analog stick and a different cap. Make sure yours is the thicker original model before ordering.
How to install
- Pinch the old cap at its base and pull straight up off the stem.
- Line the new cap up over the stem.
- Press down until it sits flush with the face of the PSP.
Under a minute, no tools.

Common questions
Will this fix drift or a stick that won't center? No. Drift comes from the analog module under the cap, not the rubber on top. If the cursor moves on its own, you need the full PSP 1000 analog stick assembly instead.
Is this an original Sony part? No, it is a third-party replacement made to the original dimensions.
Does it stay on? Yes. It grips the stem by friction the same way the factory cap does.
