An IPS replacement LCD for the original PSP 1000, with better colour, deeper blacks and wider viewing angles than the panel Sony fitted.
Fits: the PSP 1000, the original fat model. Not the 2000 or 3000, which use different panels.
Fixes: dead pixels, lines across the display, a cracked panel, backlight failure, and the washed-out look an original panel develops after twenty years.
Why the 1000 is worth modding: it is the heaviest PSP and the one with the best speakers, and plenty of people prefer it. A fresh IPS panel is what makes a 2005 handheld feel current again.
Worth knowing: full teardown, ribbon into a ZIF connector, no soldering. Go slowly with the ribbon. Tearing it means buying a second screen.
