DualSense walking your camera across the screen with your thumbs off the pad? PS5 sticks use a carbon potentiometer that wears a groove into its own track. Recalibration and contact cleaner buy you a few weeks; the part itself is worn out.
TMR sticks read position magnetically — nothing inside touches anything else, so there is no wiper and no track to wear through. Same idea as hall effect, with lower power draw and a finer signal.
This is a soldered repair. The stick module has 14 pins through the controller board and has to be desoldered to come out. You need an iron, wick or a desoldering gun, and some practice first.
Fits: Sony PS5 DualSense, all revisions.
Does not fit: DualSense Edge, or PS4 DualShock 4.
Sold as a single stick. A DualSense has two — order a pair if both are drifting or you would rather open it once.
