A 2DS lives in a backpack next to keys and loose change, and the touch screen takes the damage. Once it is scratched there is no fixing it short of a screen replacement, which costs many times what a protector does. This is the cheapest repair you will ever do, because it is the one you do before anything breaks.

Does not fit

The New Nintendo 2DS XL, which is a folding clamshell with a different screen layout entirely. Also not for the 3DS, 3DS XL, New 3DS or DSi. If your console folds shut, this is not the right protector.

How to apply

1. Work somewhere with as little dust in the air as possible. A bathroom after a hot shower is the old trick.
2. Wipe the screen completely clean and let it dry. Any speck left behind becomes a permanent bubble.
3. Peel the backing off and line the protector up before it touches down.
4. Lay it down from one edge and let it settle across the screen.
5. Push any trapped air out toward the nearest edge with a card.

Common questions

Will this fit my New 2DS XL? No. That is a different console despite the similar name. This one is for the original flat 2DS.

Will it affect the touch screen? No. The stylus works normally through it.

Can I remove it later? Yes, it peels off without leaving residue. It is not reusable once removed, though.

Will it fix a screen that is already scratched? No. A protector prevents damage, it cannot undo it. If the screen is already badly marked you need a replacement screen.
