The full rundown

Blinking power light? Flashing grey screen? Having to press the cartridge down to make it load?

That is the 72-pin connector, not the game. Thirty-odd years of sliding cartridges in and out spreads the contacts and wears them thin, and no amount of cleaning the cartridge fixes a tired connector. The 'blow on the cart' ritual worked because it changed the contact for a moment - the connector was always the real problem.

Brand new Old Skool 72-pin connector for the front-loading NES. This is the single most common NES repair there is, and it turns a blinking console back into a working one.

No soldering. The connector lifts off the board once the shell and the cartridge tray are out of the way.
