A DSi that only charges when the cable is held at just the right angle, or has stopped charging altogether, almost always has a worn or broken charging port. The jack is soldered straight to the main board and takes years of plugging, unplugging and cable tugs. This is a direct replacement charging port for the Nintendo DSi. Swap it in and the console charges like new.

How to install
- Open the DSi (tri-wing and Phillips screws) and remove the battery and the back shell.
- Desolder the old port from the main board. Clean the pads with wick before fitting the new one.
- Seat the new port, solder the pins and the anchor tabs, and check for bridges.
- Reassemble and confirm the orange charge light with a charger plugged in.

Common questions
How do I know it is the port and not the battery? If the orange light comes on when you hold the cable at an angle, it is the port. If the light comes on solid but the console dies fast off the charger, it is the battery.
Is this the same port as the DS Lite? No. The DSi and DS Lite ports look similar but are not interchangeable. Make sure you order the one for your model.
Is this an original Nintendo part? No, it is a third-party replacement built to the original footprint.
