Dreamcast looking blurry on a modern TV? The Dreamcast was one of the only consoles of its era that could output VGA, and that is by far the best picture it has. This cable takes that VGA signal straight to HDMI at 1080p, so you get a sharp image without hunting down a VGA box and a separate adapter.
What this fixes
- A soft, smeary picture over composite or RF
- A modern TV with no VGA input
- Needing a VGA box plus a converter plus a power supply
Fits
- Original Sega Dreamcast
Does not fit
A small number of Dreamcast titles output 240p only and will not display in VGA mode. That is a limit of those games, not the cable.
Specs
| Signal | VGA to HDMI |
| Output | 1080p, audio and video over one cable |
| Power | None needed, drawn from the console |
| Install | Plug and play |
Common questions
Will every game work? Most do. A handful are 240p only and refuse VGA mode.
Do I need the official VGA box too? No. This replaces it.
